Cherry angiomas are common and typically harmless, they are more frequently found in adults over 30 years of age. The exact cause of cherry angiomas is not fully understood, but there is some evidence to suggest that genetics and environmental factors may play a role in their development. Unlike age spots, which are caused by sun exposure and pigment accumulation, cherry angiomas are related to blood vessels and do not result from UV radiation.
